Use Code 128 for internal SKUs, inventory references and warehouse labels because it supports letters and numbers. EAN-13 and UPC are retail formats with fixed numeric requirements; creating an image does not assign or register a retail product number. Use the number issued by the appropriate standards organisation or marketplace workflow.
Download SVG when the barcode will be resized for print, and PNG for documents or fixed-size labels. Always test a printed sample with the scanner and printer settings used in the real workflow.
